Crowdfunding can be tricky. Often times, there are tons of ridiculous ideas that are looking for funding. And sometimes, these ridiculous ideas actually get funded. Here are some 12 campaigns that actually made it. Check it out:

Orbiting Tardis

3,231 fans of Doctor Who contributed $88,880 to send a Tardis (the Doctor’s time traveling phone booth) into space.

The i+ case

This phone case invention was made mostly of aluminum, and they raised over $85,000. Too bad it blocked a lot of the cellular/Wi-Fi signals of the users’ phones.

World’s largest jockstrap

Michael Barrett raised $850 to pay the Guinness Book of Records to measure the gigantic undergarment he made to set a world record.

A chicken burrito

Noboru Bitoy asked for $8 on Kickstarter to buy a Chipotle burrito and graph his enjoyment of it. He raised $1,050. Because he made more money than he asked for, he filmed himself eating a burrito while skydiving.

Combat Kitchenware

This line of weaponized cooking utensils became a reality after the Kickstarter campaign raised over $46,000.

Sacco

This leather sack holds your gold coins (or spare change) in a much more fashionable way than your pocket.

Cloud project

Kurt Braunohler wanted to write “How Do I Land” in the sky with an airplane. He raised over $6,000 and did just that.

Greek funding

Thom Feeney wanted to help Greece out of its debt by opening an IndieGoGo campaign. His effort to raise 1 million Euros ($1.8 million) to save the country from default actually raised almost 300,000 Euros ($338,000), most likely from people who knew he would never reach his goal. Still, it raised 300k Euros!

Bug-A-Salt

It had a goal of $15,000. Lorenzo Maggiore wanted to produce a device to kill bugs in the most entertaining and non-toxic way possible, which is by blasting them with salt with an assault weapon. He raised $577,636.

Remee

6,557 people gave $572,891 to fund a fancy sleep mask with six red lights. They are still in business and sell the mask for $95.
