Starring: Jason Statham and Amy Smart
Why was it controversial: Chev, played by Statham has public sex with his girlfriend Eve, played by Amy Smart because he needs to keep his adrenaline levels up or he'll die. The scene looked like a portrayal of violent and aggressive sex which can be argued as a case of sexual assault.

2. Chloe

When: 2009
Starring: Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried
Why was it controversial: It covered a range of taboo topics in human sexuality from infidelity, adultery and lesbian sex.

3. Brokeback Mountain

When: 2005
Starring: Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal
Why was it controversial: It was the first film to portray a homosexual relationship, and has been condemmed for advocating an elusive "gay agenda".

4. Requiem for a Dream

When: 2000
Starring: Jennifer Connely
Why was it controversial: Marion Silver shares a sex toy with another woman while being applauded by a crowd of ruthless men. It features exploitation and degradation.

5. Eyes Wide Shut

When: 1999
Starring: Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise
Why was it controversial: The film revolves around erotic intrigue and features an upper class session of group sex.

6. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

When: 2009
Starring: Noomi Rapace
Why was it controversial: While there was a 2011 remake, the plot involves Lisbeth Salander being brutally sexually assaulted by her legal guardian. It is truly one of the most disturbing scenes ever.

7. Antichrist

When: 2009
Starring: Charlotte Gainsburg
Why was it controversial: The opening itself was controversial to begin with. The protagonists are having sex while their child falls out of his window and dies. There are a lot of disturbing scenes in this show.

8. American History X

When: 1998
Starring: Edward Norton
Why was it controversial: Edward's character Derek gets sexually assaulted while in prison. He is beaten and raped in the shower. Even the prison guard ignored the abuse and closed the door and allowed it to continue.

9. A Clockwork Orange

When: 1971
Starring: Malcolm McDowell
Why was it controversial: It has the most notorious sex scene where they beat and permanently cripple an author and proceed to sexually assault his wife while singing "Singing in the Rain".

10. American Psycho

When: 2000
Starring: Christian Bale
Why was it controversial: He plays socio-path Patrick Bateman who gets involved in the most controversial and violent sex scene when he murders two women he just had a threesome with. He stabs one during sex and the other as she tries to escape.
