As hard as it may be to believe, competitive eaters do not always have to look like body doubles for Jabba The Hutt. They actually come in all shapes and sizes, but that doesn't seem to affect their impressive eating abilities.
One recent example is Molly Schuyler, a skinny mom who made headlines after breaking the record for the fastest time to consume an entire 72 oz. steak. And it took her just three minutes to do it.
But Molly is definitely not the first to accomplish such a feat. Below are some other pros that have made a name for themselves in the world of competitive eating:
Takeru "The Tsunami" Kobayashi
A Japan native who holds the world record for hot dog eating - 53 and 3/4 hot dogs with buns in 12 minutes in July 2006. He once consumed almost 18 pounds of cow brains in 15 minutes.
Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas
This Korean-born, American-based lady is considered their greatest hope of ever reclaiming the number one ranking from Kobayashi. Despite weighing just 100 lbs, she holds numerous records for filling herself with ravioli, hamburgers, chicken wings and grilled cheese sandwiches. She once ate 65 hard-boiled eggs in under seven minutes.
Crazy Legs Conti
This dreadlocked New York City native was a fan of eating contests before entering IFOCE competition in 2002. A champion oyster eater, Conti was recently the subject of a documentary film called "Crazy Legs Conti: Zen and the Art of Competitive Eating."
Oleg Zhornitskiy
This Ukrainian eater is a former Buffalo chicken wing champion, and once ate four 32-ounce bowls of mayonnaise in eight minutes.
Eric "Badlands" Booker
The 420-pound Booker is not only one of the top eaters in the United States, holding records in doughnuts, candy bars, and pumpkin pies, but he has also released a rap album and works as a New York City subway conductor.
Cookie Jarvis
Weighing in at 410-pounds, Jarvis has long been considered the eater to beat in the United States. He holds records in pasta, ice cream and other events.
