Kwikset announced Thursday their Bluetooth-enabled deadbolt lock that pairs up with your iPhone 4S or iPhone 5. The Bluetooth Smart-Ready tech communicates with the lock, making it receptive to your touch and no one else's.
In terms of security, it uses Bluetooth 4.0's own encryption which the company touts as military-grade encryption. Intruders would do best to break down your door than to untangle your lock.
If you're really paranoid about your safety, it's smart enough to know if you're inside or outside of your house, preventing others from following you and unlocking your door after you've entered your home.
And if you don't carry an iPhone (or tend not to use it much), there's a Kevo fob - it's included with the lock- that gives you the same single-touch unlocking coolness.
The battery lasts for a year, and Kwikset says you'll get plenty of warnings of the battery's status before it dies and you're locked in or out of your own home. But of course the good news is you'll be able to still use a conventional key to unlock the door.
