Asia is a crowded place. With bustling cities, the population per capita is growing. Reddit user valeriepieris posted an image that puts the population consolidation into new perspective. It's very cramped!

If you take the list of the 10 most populous countries in 2008, for instance, and add up just the ones that are in that circle (China at 1.3 billion, India at 1.1 , Bangledesh at .2, Indonesia at .2, and Japan at .1) you'll get roughly 2.9 billion people out of the 2008 world total 6.6 billion.

Another Redditor's unsourced peer-review gets a little more granular. Check it out:
  • World pop: 7 bil
So for your post to be correct, the circle must have more than 3.5 bil people in.
  • China pop: 1.34 bil
  • India pop: 1.24 bil
  • Indonesia pop: 0.24 bil
  • Japan pop: 0.13 bil
  • Thailand pop: 0.07 bil
  • Bangladesh pop: 0.15 bil
  • Pakistan pop: 0.18 bil
  • Malaysia pop: 0.03 bil
  • Philippines pop: 0.094 bil
  • South Korea pop: 0.05 bil
  • Total from above: 3.524 bil
  • Checks out. Mindblowing.
So no wonder it's always so damned jammed all the time.
