The BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera was announced earlier this month and promised to deliver sharp image quality in a tiny $1000 device. Here's the first footage of it, and it doesn't look too shabby at all.

Blackmagic's chosen camera tester, John Brawley, posted an edit of footage he shot strolling around a farmer's market. In fact, the images look really damn good.

The footage doesn't show low light performance, because the Super 16 sensor probably won't be able to compete with a full frame DSLR but its still impressive nonetheless! Check it out below: [Vimeo / John Brawley]
