NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory has been taking photos of the sun since 2010, once every 12 seconds and in 10 different wavelengths. When put together, they look simply beautiful.

It shows how our sun is exploding with solar flares and coronal mass ejections. The video goes at two photos per day over the three year period. From NASA:
