DSLRs are great, except for their size. Now Nikon is attempting to cramp all of that goodness in to a point and shoot. This is the Coolpix A.

To get the APS-C sensor in, they had to compromise on the lens. Which means no zoom on the new Coolpix A keeping the camera slim at 4.4 × 2.6 × 1.6 inches.

Weighing at 10.6 ounces, it's very light. The Coolpix A has the same size image sensor and possibly similar image quality. It also has a PASM shooting model dial on top and a pop up dashboard menu on the LCD.

The camera can shoot at a standard ISO of up to 6400 and expandable to 25600. It'll cost $1,100 (approximately RM3,600), but at such a steep price I'm guessing people would rather pony up a little bit more for a real DSLR.
