Gregory McRoberts couldn't wait for Google to finish their augmented reality-enhanced specs, so he designed his own that is worn like an eyepatch instead.

The result is a cyborg pirate human. Gregory designed the eyepatch as a sort of hearing aid for the visually impaired. But instead of using an LCD display to show information like incoming emails or directions, the patch uses a simple set of glowing LEDs to translate temperature and distance info to the wearer.

A blue LED shifts to red, to indicate if an object or room is above or below 80 degrees Fahrenheit, while a flashing green LED strobes quickly and then slows down when an object comes nearer or goes farther away.
