If you didn't already know, the rule-of-thirds is a simple basis for getting a balanced composition in a photograph. If you divide your image into thirds vertically and horizontally, your subject should be placed near where those lines intersect.
So Alex Dergachey came up with a way to overlay a rule-of-thirds grid over any image on any web page open in your browser. You just have to visit his website and drag the bookmark into your browser's bookmark bar or folder. When you visit any site, just click on the 'Bookmarklet' and voila. You have reached enlightenment.
