JYP partners with Chinese company to produce new film

JYP Entertainment announced its plans on producing a Chinese movie. JYP Pictures, an affiliate of entertainment agency JYP Entertainment, has entered a collaboration with China’s Dongbang Entertainment Group to produce a film together. This will be the first joint production between the two firms. Officials from both companies, including CEOs signed a formal contract at the office of Dongbang Group in China on October 31. JYP Pictures will provide expertise in the production and making of the film, with Dongbang Group investing financially in the production. JYP Pictures President Pyo Jong Rok stated, “The collaboration with China’s top art company entertainment group, is expected to create meaningful interaction between the two countries. We hope that this is a starting point for strategic involvement in various business not only in films but also in management, concert production, and more.”
