EXO has become the most popular K-Pop star in Twitter for Southeast Asian countries. According to Korean Music Contents Industry Association (KMCIA), EXO is the most ‘tweeted’ K-Pop star not only in China region, but also in the entire Southeast Asia region including Philippines, Vietnam, Thaliand and Indonesia. An representative of KMCIA said, “We chose artists based on the number of searches on SNS, popularity in the Southeast Asia region, and chart rankings.” Although the EXO members themselves don’t have Twitter accounts, the 12-member idol group showcases their overwhelming popularity by becoming the most searched and most-talked about K-pop celebrities in Twitter.
