It has been reported that the perpetrator responsible for spreading malicious rumors about IU regarding pregnancy and marriage is now in police custody.

Producer Cho Young Chul from the singer’s agency, Loen Entertainment, tweeted, “The perpetrator was caught by the prosecutors’ office and he confessed to his crime. We are still checking on related malicious comments. We will continue to take some strong measures to issues regarding defamation of our artists.”

IU has been having hard time since rumors about her preparing for a wedding with an idol boy group member were spread in May throughout local securities companies. This was then followed by rumours that she was pregnant, leading to company to investigate and file lawsuits for defamation.
