MBC’s ‘Star Diving Show Splash!’ due to safety issues

After halting its filming earlier this month, MBC has announced that its sports variety show ‘Star Diving Show Splash!’ has been officially cancelled due to safety issues. The program’s producer Shin Jung Soo confirmed on September 12, “We decided to cancel ‘Star Diving Show Splash!’ after an executive meeting with MBC. The staff and the cast members were also notified, and they were disappointed by the cancellation.” The show has been embroiled in controversy regarding safety issues of its cast members, especially after comedian Lee Bong Won injured his face during recording. Due to several injuries, the show was suspended for the two weeks which led to an official cancellation.
