A nurse in China is being heralded and praised for her efforts in helping to clam a child down during surgery by breastfeeding the patient while surgery was in progress. The surgery was a success and she was given the nickname, 'Angel Nurse.'
One-month-old Wei Wei had to undergo surgery to remove an abscess. His age and size didn't make him eligible for general anesthesia, just local. When Wei Wei wouldn't stop crying, Li Baoxia, a nurse at the hospital, stepped in to help calm Wei Wei down by breastfeeding him.
The tactic worked and Wei Wei fell asleep in the nurse's arms.
Doctors were able to complete the operation without any problems.
