Something scary just happened. A Florida prison says a computer "glitch" is to blame for all of the doors in a maximum security wing being opened without warning.
Wired thinks this could be the work of some hackers. And it's not surprising if it is.
Newly released surveillance footage is sparking some skepticism that it was a random act of code. The inmates are safely locked in their cells in one minute and the next, the doors fly open.
The guards admit that the circumstances surrounding the incident are "suspicious." Also, it was the second time in many months that the doors had been opened without warning.
After security researchers told them that the computer system controlling the doors was vulnerable, Wired asked the guards if they thought a hacker might've been behind the funny business.
