2009.10.20
Last Friday on the 16th, Mnet announced over it's website about the cancellation of the MKMF Awards this year. People were caught offguard and left distraught at this sudden announcement.
Mnet finally announced on the 20th about their message, "MKMF has been going on for 10 years but it has come to an end. There will be no more MKMF awards and that is the truth. For the last ten years, MKMF brought unique stages from singers and earned the title of being Korea's biggest music awards. As a music channel, we feel we need to start something that is different than other awards shows. As of now, we are discussing what we can bring to people."
Mnet will have an event on the 23rd to mark the end of MKMF and announce their new and final proposal to replace it.
