Female group After School has expressed their thoughts on its rebirth from a 6 member group to a 7 member group.
After the departure of an original member, So Young, in October, After School has recruited Raina and Nana and reorganized as a 7 member team. As a new 7 member group, they have just released their first single “Because of You.” The new single, which is a sentimental, electronic pop track, is rising on many music charts across the board and is being received well by fans.
On December 2nd, the 7 members of After School, Kahi, Jungah, Jooyeon, Uee, Bekah, Raina, and Nana, had an interview with Money Today Star News, and the group commented on various topics ranging from their thoughts on their transformation into a 7 member team to their new single, “Because of You.”
The group’s leader, Kahi, stated, “With two new members joining, it’s become much more lively and energetic than before,” and added, “the most important thing is that with Raina joining, our vocals have become especially stronger.”
Jungah also agreed that “the musical foundation has become stronger” and “a track like ’Because of You’ was possible due to this renewed strength.” Jooyeon also reiterated the other members in saying, “the vocal portions have considerable support now, and the team atmosphere has become more elegant as well.”


In response, Raina said, “I was always a fan of After School, but now that I get to perform alongside everyone as a member, it’s a big honor for me,” and continued, “and on top of everything, I’m being complimented so much that it’s made me very happy.”
Now as the youngest member, Nana stated, “I’m so thankful to the other members who have treated me like family and taken care of me,” and added, “I will continue to do my best and live up the After School name.”
One of the original members, Uee stated, “I was afraid that ‘Because of You’ could have been received as a dull or boring song because of its sad and mellow tone, but I am so glad that all of our fans have shown much love and support for it that I am very happy these days.”
Bekah added, “[the new single] is more heavy and somber than previous releases, but After School has taken things to the next level through transitions such as this… We are very thankful for our fans’ loyal support during our transformation.”
