IRIS’s production company’s top representative was interviewed on 18th and more information on IRIS 2 was released. IRIS 2 is likely to be released next year and it will have a different storyline and cast from season 1 IRIS 2 is not a sequel, but rather, a spinoff story The casting for the spinoff story is already taking place. It is likely that the cast will be announced from early Jan 2010 onwards
When asked about a continuation of the storyline line in IRIS 1, he replied that it is difficult to pinpoint a time for such a sequel and it may be ‘after 2 or 3 years’. He added that he would like to retain the original cast and it is likely that the N.Korea-S.Korea issue dealt with in IRIS may undergo changes during this time too. He would like to make a sequel in accordance to the state of affairs then.
