Park Jung-ah, former leader of the girl group Jewelry, has been diagnosed with H1N1 influenza.
Park’s agency, Star Empire, reported that she went to the hospital after suffering high fever, headache, and a difficulty in breathing. At first she thought it was just a plain flu, but doctors confirmed that she had the new flu.

Because of her condition, Park has cancelled all her year-end appearances, including special music shows and awards. She also cannot attend a party for children with pediatric cancer, which she was really looking forward to. Her agent said that Park cried because she felt that she’s let down her group members and fans. She has released her last album as a Jewelry member and will no longer be a part of the group once the album promotion activities are over.
