Despite the heavy rain, thousands of fans still managed to overcome it just for their idols, SHINee!

Invited as performing guests and prize receipient for the 2010 Singapore Entertainment Awards, SHINee had a special [2009, Year Of Us] showcase yesterday at IMM’s Rooftop Garden. Meeting with their fans, this also happens to be one of the activities held in conjuction with the SEA.

Queueing through the night just for tickets

In order not to miss out on the showcase, thousands of fans had camped out at IMM on Friday night in order to be one of the lucky 3000 fans that would be able to buy the albums that held the passes for the showcase.

All 3000 albums, costing about $65 each, were sold out on the day itself. After the SEA on Saturday night, fans again queued overnight, this time to ensure good places for themselves during the showcase itself.

Despite the heavy downpour that started before the showcase, this did not dampen the fans’ high spirits. Finally entering under umbrellas held by the staff members, SHINee thanked the fans individually for being patient and waiting despite the rain.

Leader Onew also expressed their thanks for being awarded the Asian New Generation award.

The five-member group performed three songs: [Ring Ding Dong], [JoJo] and [Noona Neomu Yeoppo], and the fans did not disappoint with their defeaning cheers.

The fans also sang an early birthday song in Korean for member Jonghyun, whose birthday falls on the 8th of April. SHINee was initially confused, but when they figured out what was happening, the birthday boy finally let out a much-cherished smile.

After the half-an-hour event, SHINee then rushed back to their hotel to meet up with a Korean fan of theirs. Residing in Singapore and physically handicapped, the little girl’s favourite member was Minho. In front of her idols, she was shy and reserved, but was very grateful that they managed to meet with her despite their busy schedule.

The five boys reveal everything about themselves

During the interview segment yesterday, SHINee showed off a rare, cute side to their usual selves and revealed secrets about each other to the fans.

The hosts asked questions about the five of them, and they would only answer after leader Onew had shouted “1, 2, 3”. This adorable side of them was very much in contrast to their onstage concept.

The former feels that his eyes are his most attractive features, while the latter thinks his voice is rather charming.

When asked how many times a day he does it, he laughed and said: “You can’t count it.”

The “guilty” leader closed his eyes and randomly pointed at his members, while the rest of SHINee unanimously chose him as the answer.

He proudly announced that “I’m the neatest and the most meticulous!”

He had tasted the local chilli crab before, and declared it “not very spicy at all”.

The two of them pointed at each other. When the hosts asked the both of them to demonstrate, Jonghyun then used Minho as a shield, repeatedly patting his bottom to ask him to do it instead. Finally under the request of all the fans present, the both of them then did aegyo together.
