Appearing on Time.com (see Time article of Hallyu artists,) Taeyang appeared among popular kpop idols which attention drawn to him and other stars such as 2NE1, Big Bang, and Apple girl Kim YeoHee.
His first stunning full length solo album Solar hit iTunes stores on August 25th and the album went  No.3 in Japan, No.5 in Canada, No,11 in the U.S., and No.15 in Australia. This is stunning for a Kpop artist as the Korean music market has not broken the mainstream in western countries, but according to Time.com, Solar international is set to be in actual music stores for physical sale in the U.S and Canada by late this year! Amazing news for Taeyang!

But the good news does not stop there for loyal fans of Taeyang, we previously reported that the star would be performing two solo concert dates to finish of Solar promotions, well it has now been revealed that the whole event will be streamed LIVE on YouTube! This will allow overseas fans to watch the event that would have been hard for them to go to. Is this another step towards international domination by YG?

What are Taeyang’s views on promoting in the U.S after fellow YG member Se7en did not succeed so well?
Taeyang is known for his warm smile and humble personality but he seems to be sure that that specific image won’t do so well in America. After seeing that his goatee had been photoshopped out for his album cover he reportedly said,  “Call the printer and tell them to change the picture. I want to look a bit tough. In the U.S., like this, they’ll think I’m too nice.”

Regardless, it seems that Kpop is slowly spreading across the world and I personally think within the next 2 years Kpop will become a global phenomenon and when that day comes, we can remember Taeyang was one of the first to lead the charge.
