Song Joong Ki revealed why he chose to act in the drama 'SungKyunKwan Scandal'.

He stated, "I wanted to escape from the UmChinAh (*Refer to translator's note below) image I've always had and most of all, the role is very captivating." He has been cast as Joseon Dynasty's playboy Gu Yong Ha in 'SungKyunKwan Scandal'.

Song Joong Ki, who was very excited to be playing a character completely different from his current image, stated, "Gu Yong Ha is a character who has a bright and cheerful exterior but holds sorrow within." He also added that his sister is a fan of Micky Yoochun and she strongly recommended the role to him when she found out about it.
