Nomination lists for the Bonsang and Popularity award categories for the 20th High1 Seoul Music Awards have been revealed! The High1 Seoul Music Awards is said to be one of the most popular music awards ceremonies in Korea. It was established by Sports Seoul in the 90s.
The upcoming Seoul Music Awards will be held on January 20th, 2011 at Kyunghee University Peace Center from 7 - 10pm KST. For the Bonsang award, the top 10 artists are chosen through voting (20%) digital/album sales (50%) research (10%) and judges (20%). One artist is chosen from the Bonsang winners for the Daesang.
Only Korean citizens are able to vote from now until January 17th, 2011.
Past Winners of Daesang include: 2001 - Jo Sungmo 2002 - Kim Gunmo 2003 - Lee Hyori 2004 - Shinhwa 2006 - DBSK 2008 - Big Bang 2009 - Wonder Girls
There is no information as to who won the Daesang for 2005 and 2007. There is the possibility that there was no Daesang recipient in those particular years.
