As reported earlier, more than 400,000 ticket purchase applications were received for ‘SM Town Live in Tokyo’ concert which will be held at the National Yoyogi Stadium in Tokyo on January 25th and 26th. The no. of applications received is about 17 times the the capacity that the stadium could accommodate for the 2-day concert.
As the concert draws nearer, the desperation to get the tickets sky rocketed. Fans who did not manage to get the tickets have turned to bidding sites and thus, the bidding battle started. On Japanese bidding sites, the ‘SM Town Live in Tokyo’ concert tickets priced at 26,500 yen (358,974 Won or ~US$321) went up almost 10 fold on the final bid to a whopping 254,000 Yen (3,340,734 Won or ~US$3,072). There were fierce competitions among bidders even though the bidding price have gone up multiple folds from the original price. Such is the craze among Japanese fans to catch a glimpse of their idols such as SNSD, Super Junior, SHINee, TVXQ, BoA, etc at the ‘SM Town Live in Tokyo’ concert.
