2011.02.15
Kara and DSP Media’s month-long battle over Kara’s exclusive contracts is moving past verbal jabs through the media and will now be going to court.
Kara’s Han Seungyeon, Kang Jiyoung and Jung Nicole filed for an invalid exclusive contract lawsuit against DSP Media on February 14th with the Seoul Central District Court.
Their accusations were the same as when they first submitted notices of termination to their agency on January 18th, citing unfair income distribution.
Despite the rumors that Park Gyuri was excluded from the group, the girls showed a united front to the media and even continued promotions in Japan.
DSP Media’s response was almost laughable. In their press release, DSP Media revealed that their official stance was that the girls were distorting the truth about their income distribution and their contracts are fair.
Also, the company repeated over and over that they were “completely taken aback” and “surprised” by the news.
