[News] The disbandment of 'Five Girls' - A Blessing in Disguise?
2011.02.25
Just before the group ‘Five Girls’ were to make their debut in the K-pop world misfortune hit them. The group ended up officially disbanding in 2007. Since they had a reality show and didn’t debut, netizens deemed them unlucky leaving the girls in despair.
Luckily, all the girls kept pursuing their dreams and joined different companies. They continued working hard to accomplish their dreams and ended up finding success separately. Yoobin was the first to get famous after she joined the popular group ‘Wonder Girls, and U-ie was next in line when she became a sensation after becoming After School’s sixth member.
When the group ‘Secret’ debuted Hyosung finally found fame and Gina (G.NA) debuted as a solo singer and is currently enjoying her popularity. The lesser known member Jiwon is making a living as a successful musical actress.
Now that all the members of the once “unlucky” group have all become famous and successful K-netizens have realized how wrong they were with many leaving comments stating things like, “Their debut…I wonder what it would have been like”,“They debuted now and all are nice, great!” and“Group of misfortune? Recently good fortune!”. Even though the girls couldn’t find fame together they still keep in contact and support each others activities. Hopefully they can all meet on stage one day soon.
