After girl group 2NE1’s member, Sandara Park, stood at the podium at a university for a lecture, the story behind her lecture is arousing much curiosity.
2NE1’s Sandara Park, who considers herself as an honorable communications director, spoke at Yonsei University College of Business on ‘Consumer Actions’ on the 16th. She talked about how social networking (identical to SNS) is currently the most used tool for advertisement marketing and her experiences using it.
This lecture put Yonsei University and YG Entertainment’s industry-education cooperation into momentum. Sandara Park has been using me2day actively for the past two years and has about 350 000 me2day friends.
At the podium, Sandara Park said “I’m not the one to really lead a lecture, I just want to use this precious class time to have a conversation with the students about current events.” Afterwards, she talked about how she feels and thinks about the way she’s been able to communicate with her fans via me2day. For Sandara especially, she feels the most important thing when talking with her fans, is “honesty, fun and naturalness.” She also said that using SNS to talk to people sincerely rather than for just advertising is much more meaningful.
After Sandara’s lecture, Lee Moongyu, the instructor for that class stated, “After the generation of social networking came around, I thought Sandara Park was one of the most successful cases. But I think the fact that Sandara Park and the students had a connection in that way, it had a large meaning to it.”
Of course, the students left comments on Twitter or their own social networking sites have said “Sandara isn’t just pretty, she has the skill to host a lecture in a relaxed and fun way” after the lecture itself. The lecture for that day was supposed to be held for 100 people but hearing that Sandara Park was coming, five times the amount of students arrived and caused overcrowding.
