It has been announced on June 6 that Singer IU, group Super Junior's Yesung and SHINee's Jonghyun will leave Immortal Song 2- Singing a Legend which is a part of KBS 2TV Declaration of Freedom.

PD Kwon Jaeyoung explained, "IU, Yesung and Jonghyun will leave Immortal Song 2 because of their other schedule. IU has left the show with the broadcast of last week's episode and Yesung and Jonghyun will leave the program with the third episode which will be broadcast on the 18th."

PD Kwon added, "it's unfortunate that we can't show the original members growing with this change in members. However, we think it's good that we can give more opportunities to more idol stars."


On the criticisms that the program is too similar to MBC Our Sunday Night- I am a Singer, he stated, "I think it's because the format is similar. Just like how Great Birth is different from Super Star K, Immortal Song 2 will definitely be a different program than I am a Singer.

Meanwhile, Immortal Song 2 will air its second contest which has group Boohwal's famous songs as its theme on June 11 at 5:50 pm.
