The popular girl group 2NE1, which swept top ranking of charts with its five songs, is heating up Japan. 2NE1’s agency is in consideration of adding another concert at Tokyo Dome which holds 50,000 seats since fans gather tremendously for the concert in the fall.
Originally, 2NE1 planned “Nolza in Japan” concert in five different places in Japan in September. 2NE1’s partner agency in Japan announced that the number of applicants for the concert exceeded 100,000.
Now, the concert crew is searching for ways to satisfy all 100,000 people because they’ve been expecting only 70,000 people and 80,000 the most. The crew plans for an additional concert at Tokyo Dome, scheduling the date and the place. Previously, there hasn’t been any case for a Korean girl group to fill all seats at a Tokyo Dome before its official activities in Japan.
Representatives from Japanese agency say, “We weren’t ready for this enthusiastic reaction from the fans because 2NE1 hasn’t begun its official activities in Japan. In my opinion, this tremendous popularity could be explained by Japanese fans’ recognition of 2NE1’s songs and video on the YouTube and several online social networks.”
Even in Korea, 2NE1’s concert planned for August ran short of tickets, so the agency added another concert on the 26th for the fans.
YG Entertainment says, “There aren’t any extra tickets even for close acquaintances of YG. The president Yang is having hard time refusing his close acquaintances’ request for the ticket.”
