[News] 'Secret' Feels Special Attachment to New Album
2011.10.17
Citing BoA and SES as early forms of inspiration, four-member girl group Secret feels that it has finally graduated to the ranks of a "real" band with the upcoming release of its debut regular album, "Moving in Secret."
"I feel like we're officially saying that we are 'singers' in real terms now," band member Song Ji-eun told the Chosun Ilbo on Friday. "It was really hard preparing [the album], but I feel proud that we have achieved a new milestone as singers."
The regular album comes two years after the group debuted with a digital single album.
Like all aspiring singers, they had to go through numerous hardships and frustrations to get where they are now. Dreaming of becoming stars like BoA or SES -- now disbanded -- they refused to give up and devoted themselves to their craft.
The girls' efforts finally paid off as they saw songs from their single albums top various music charts. However the new album, made up mostly of dance music, is personal enough to make them choke up with emotion when they recall the process of putting it together and what it means to them.
The band will make its way to Japan next month when it releases a mini album there.
