Asian superstar group TVXQ, who recently completed a successful fanmeeting at the Beijing Workers’ Gymnasium has confirmed that they will be appearing at the Mercedes Benz Arena, and will be presenting to their fans a long awaited “2011 TVXQ 「Why」Shanghai Fanmeeting”

TVXQ fever to explode again, Shanghai their last stop in China

After two long years of waiting and preparations, the most emotional moment is about to arrive. On 9 December, the TVXQ fever will once again explode, with the location changed from the original Shanghai gymnasium to the Mercedes Benz Arena. According to sources, Beijing and Shanghai are the only two stops in China for this Asian tour.

The earlier contractual dispute issues may have shaken up the group, but TVXQ’s loss of members has not affected their popularity, with orderly planning of their artists’ plans helping them to retain their influence in the Asian music market. Last month, on 2 October at the Beijing Worker’s Gymnasium, TVXQ show their charm to everybody once again. Although it was only a fanmeeting, the performance location, lights and stage effects were all of concert-standard, and the hall was packed with fans from all over the world, and the red penlights they waved in support of TVXQ turned the location into a “red ocean.”

On 9 December, they will be meeting their fans in Shanghai. Truthfully, this is the first large-scale fanmeeting held in Shanghai for Yunho and Changmin, the two-man TVXQ. As the second and last stop for TVXQ’s fanmeeting in China, the Shanghai stop carries the expectations of many fan. Prior to the confirmation of the Shanghai event, fans from Shanghai as well as those who for various reasons could not attend the event in Beijing, have been actively contacting TVXQ’s management company, trying to find out more information. When the time and location for the Shanghai stop were announced, fans immediately got online and spread this news via weibo and the baidu forums. Although official ticketing has not begun for the event, fans have been making preparations for the purchase of tickets, and many fans in the areas around Shanghai have made arrangements for group travel, and have booked their air tickets and hotel rooms.

Consideration for the fans & starting event at 20:18, a promise that this event will be longer than the Beijing stop.

Due to the long holidays on 1 October, on 2 October the Workers’Gymnasium was packed full by 7pm, and even though Yunho and Changmin appeared punctually at 7.30pm, the event had, unfortunately, ended before 9pm. For this Shanghai stop, the TVXQ side promised that the event time would be longer than in Beijing, in understanding of the fan’s wish to see the members.

Furthermore, TVXQ understoood the fact that fans will need to rush to the fanmeeting after school or work, and taking into consideration weekend peak hour traffic in Shanghai, spoke to the organizers and have decided to delay the start of the fanmeeting to 20:18, giving fans ample time to get to the locations, showing their thoughtfulness.

To provide the best audio quality for the fans, the Shanghai stop will be held at the Mercedes Benz Arena, where many stars have held their solo concerts at. To this, TVXQ said that it’s been two years since they have seen everyone, and therefore hope to meet with more Chinese fans, and have a closer interaction with them.

With tickets ranging from 280 yuan to 880 yuan for the highest category, the prices are more reasonable and more acceptable to the fans. According to sources, ticketing for the fanmeeting will be starting soon but the 280 yuan and 480 yuan tickets have all been preordered. Currently only the main floor and one storey of balcony seats have been open for preorder. As there have been a lot of ticket scalpers appearing on Japanese and Korean websites, raising the prices to over 10,000 yuan, the organizers have put out a special reminder to the Shanghai fans that the highest ticket category is 880 yuan, and fans should purchase their tickets through proper channels so that they do not get fake tickets.

Making a strong comeback with a new album, the Shanghai stop will be bigger and better.

This fanmeeting, called the “2011 TVXQ 「Why」Shanghai Fanmeeting,” is, of course, a fanmeeting where TVXQ will be bringing their new album released this January “Why” along. As the “main weapon” they will be using for this round of Asian fanmeetings, U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin will be singing the hit songs from “Why (Keep Your Head Down)” for the fans. Singing songs from their new album for the first time in Beijing and receiving a passionate response from the fans, TVXQ hopes that they will be able to bring to Shanghai and even better performance.

Every TVXQ member is a main vocalist, and because every member has such strong vocals as well as rap and dance abilitles, there is no way to determine who is the main vocalist. The opening song in Beijing was “Maximum,” with Jung Yunho and Shim Changmin appearing handsomely in white checkered suits, with Jung Yunho’s deep “V” outfit attracting the attention of the audience. Following which the two men performed a string of both old and new songs, satisfying the audience with this performance that included “How Can I”, “Before You Go”. “The Way You are,” “Mirotic,” “Rising Sun,” and “Why (Keep your head down)” etc. Although the tracklist for the Shanghai stop has yet to be confirmed, the organizer has revealed that it will be different from that of the Beijing stop.

Having not seen their fans in Shanghai for a long time, for this Shanghai fanmeeting, TVXQ will not only be presenting their usual high-quality performances, but the entire stage design and production for the fanmeeting, will differ largely from Beijing, and fans can look forward to an even grander stage performance for this stop. To present an even more charming stage to everyone, the organizer has invested large amounts of money into the stage, lighting, sound and other stage hardware, a setup worthy of a large-scale concert performance. Currently, Yunho and Changmin are undergoing intensive preparations, and be it Yunho’s powerful dance moves or Changmin’s alluring vocals, the audience will be able to truly experience the unique K-pop energy and passion that is TVXQ.

Aside from an exciting stage performance, to help alleviate the fan’s two year long wait for their idols, there will be various interactive activities between TVXQ and their fans for this Shanghai stop of the fanmeeting, so that everyone can have a better understanding of the two members. To thank the fans for their support, TVXQ has promised that they will reward the fans with 100% of their passion.
