Singer Kim Hyun Joong expressed his warm heart and secretly donated $150,000 USD to help those in need.
On December 26th, Korean Red Cross Association revealed that Kim Hyun Joong donated $50,000 USD to the Red Cross before kicking off his concert tour in Japan. He also donated an additional $50,000 a housing and homelessness charity and another $50,000 to feed children in Fukushima following the deadly earthquake. After secretly donated a total of $150,000 USD, Kim Hyun Joong went to Japan for his two-week concert tour.
A spokesperson for the Red Cross stated, "In early or mid-November, Kim’s manager visited us without any previous notice and donated 50 million won to help people in need. He asked us not to let media to know about this."
KEYEAST Entertainment explained, "Because he did it personally, we had no idea about it. We think he just wanted to share his feelings and didn’t want to make a big deal out of it."
Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong will be starting off the year 2012 with his fans through a fan meeting event. He will be meeting several thousands of fans through "2012 Kim Hyun Joong Fanmeeting in Seoul" at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium on January 21st of next year.
