JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong donated 50 million won to his Alma mater, showing love to his juniors. Kim Jaejoong donated 50 million won to his Alma mater as a development fund.
On the occasion of the yearend [ceremony], Kim Jaejoong donated 20 million won to his Alma mater, Gongju Jungdong Elementary School and 30 million won to Gongju Attached Middle School.
The donation will be used for personal computer and books replacement, fountain installation in Gongju Jungdong Elementary School, and scholarship, books support and equipment for special classes in the Gongju Middle School. It will be also used for funding the baseball team of the Elementary School and swimming team of the Middle School.
Kim Jaejoong expressed his feelings, “In order to pay back the love that I have received, I have participated in several donation activities in the passing year. And I thought that, as a senior, I should give a little help to juniors from where I was born and raised. It would be better if I could meet the teachers and the juniors and make the donation directly, but it’s sad that I couldn’t. I really want to visit when I have a chance. I hope that my juniors can have their school life in a better environment after the vacation.”
Kim Jaejoong sent a handwritten message and his signature to his juniors on the closing day before the vacation of Gongju Attached Middle School and the juniors enthusiastically responded to his sincere heart.
The Registrar of Gongju Attached Middle School, Goo Ki-nam, said, “We thank Kim Jaejoong’s heart for still caring about the school and his juniors even after graduation. The students couldn’t conceal their joy after hearing about Kim Jaejoong’s donation. We’re proud that one of our students has become a great Hallyu Star and made meaningful donation for his juniors. As Jaejoong has succeeded with his blooming talent, we hope that our students will also follow him and become talented people of our country. Thank you for giving our school a special closing ceremory.”
Last November, Kim Jaejoong along with JYJ Junsu and Yoochun, donated 200 million won to help flood damage restoration in Thailand. They are proceeding the ‘Mango Tree project’ with World Vision.
