JYJ has been selected by the netizens as the top idol stars of the year.
KBS has conducted an online voting with the title ’2011 BEST ICON Award’ from December 8th through the 28th on the homepage. For the category of ‘Top Idol Star’, JYJ has taken the #1 spot proving their popularity.
There were 4 categories in the online voting which were; ‘Top Idol Star’, ‘The Top Segment in Gag Concert’, ‘The Best Casting This Year in a KBS Drama’, and ‘The Top Mission in Qualifications of Men’.
JYJ received a total of 58,357 votes beating out even Lee Seung Gi, who obtained 53,530 votes to become the ‘Top Idol Stars’. National little brother Lee Seung Gi had a very close race against JYJ till the end but JYJ came up on top eventually.
Netizens selected ‘Aejungnam’ as the best segment in ‘Gag Concert’, Shin Ha Kyun of ‘Brain’ for best casting in a KBS drama, and ‘Youth Choir’ as the best mission on ‘Qualification of Men’.
KBS Media insider said in a phone conversation with OSEN on December 27th, “The winners of the netizen voting will receive an award plaque.”
