Popular Korean girl group Girls’ Generation appeared at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo for the first ever collaborative fashion event between Korea and Japan, called “KISS (Korean International Style Show)” on January 25th.
Girls’ Generation received the biggest cheer at the event when they appeared on stage to perform five of their popular songs, including “The Boys”, “Genie”, and “MR.TAXI”. Sooyoung later greeted the crowd in fluent Japanese, saying, “Everyone from Tokyo, it’s been a while, how has everyone been? We’re really happy to appear alongside so many other artists today.”
The girls wore Houndstooth-checkered monotone suit pants with long black leggings, giving off a cool, coordinated feel. Tiffany explained, “The member’s of Girls’ Generation also have a lot of interest in fashion, and we worried about what we should wear. But in the end, we decided to wear suits because it gives off a cool feel.” Afterward, Tiffany called out to the crowd in a cute voice, “How is it, does it look good?~”
The “KISS” event goes from January 25th through the 27th, and the main theme is “Greatest collaboration between Korea and Japan. From Shibuya to Asia, then on to the world”. Around 11000 people attended the even that featured other Korean artists such as CNBLUE, SISTAR, and Beast, who were also working alongside top models from both Korea and Japan.
