JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong received state reception in Turkey.
He attended the banquet dinner at Turkey’s Presidential Palace on Feb. 6 as a delegate after receiving on invitation. A day before the dinner, he held a solo fan meeting at Ankara Univerisity. He also participated in a discussion called ‘Dialogue with the Young Generation’ with some undergraduates and President Lee Myung Bak, who was on a visit to four Middle East countries.
Officials confirmed Turkey’s invitation to the fan meeting and the banquet dinner at Turkey’s Presidential Palace. A spokesperson for Turkey’s Korean Cultural Center said, “There is a greater symbolic meaning to it since Kim Jaejoong is a Hallyu Star representative who is popular among young Turkishs”, revealing background information about the invitation.
Many chief figures attended the banquet dinner held in the Presidential Palace. “I wanted to take photographs with many people using my cell phone camera, but actually I could not do so during the dinner,” Kim Jaejoong said, feeling unsatisfied.
A Turkish who wore the Hanbok and sang Shim Soo Bong’s “All I Know is Love” and “Arirang” surprised him. He said that South Korea and Turkey were called ‘Sibling Countries” but he did not know that they had such a connection with each other. He also expressed that he enjoyed the food that had been prepared.
Kim Jaejoong revealed that the JYJ members wanted to visit Turkey due to his detailed description of his visit there. A spokesperson from JYJ’s management, C-JeS said, “Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu are eagerily looking forward to their visit to Turkey after hearing news about Kim Jaejoong’s visit there. They want to perform in Turkey.”
Meanwhile, Kim Jaejoong’s group JYJ will be holding their first solo concerts in Chile and Peru this March.
