In order to secure their competitiveness in both the overseas and domestic markets, Nong Shim noodles is going all out in their marketing, seeking endorsements from popular K-pop singers such as B2ST and IU.
Last year, Nong Shim's 'white soup' ramen caused a drop in their market shares, thus they plan to recruit the highly popular IU to be their model for another product, 'slurp knife-cut noodles' to boost their sales.
Nong Shim noodles hopes that if IU becomes their model, they would able to regain their market share and becomes Nong Shin's "flare" to aid them in their product marketing.
According to a representative from Nong Shim noodles, "It's true that we have contacted her side regarding getting her to be the model for our 'slurp knife-cut noodles', but nothing concrete has been decided yet."
Previously, IU revealed on an April 2nd episode of MBC "Quiz to Change the World" that her secret to warming up her vocal cords was to eat a cup of ramen really quickly.
Also, according to a fan account on U-ana from a fan who happened to be at Gimpo Airport when IU left for the Japanese showcase, IU was seen holding a cup of ramen in her hand and complaining to someone who looked like her manager that too much water was poured in.
