On March 23, a representative from SM Entertainment stated, "The OST for ‘The King 2 Hearts’, sung by Taeyeon, will be revealed on the 28th. Along with Taeyeon, other members will be showing their support for their acting members, Yoona, Yuri, and Sooyoung, through OST."

Girls' Generation is known for having participated in various OST. Aside from Taeyeon who has sung OST for MBC "Beethoven Virus", KBS2‘s "Hong Gil Dong" and SBS "Athena: Goddess of War", members Jessica sang "Tears Are Overflowing" for "Romance Town" and Tiffany sang "Ring" for the drama "Haru".
