For one night only, 20 Korean lads hailing from five performing - newbie and experienced — acts featuring Teen Top, B1A4, 7.9.4.2, Jay Park and SHINee, joined forces to put up a stirring concert for K-Pop fans.
The absence of more established performers might explain for the event’s weak turnout of 3,000 concertgoers at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last night. However, the lukewarm attendance proved to be of little dampener as an air of excitement swept through the stadium when the concert began on the dot at 7pm.
First to charm the audience with their chummy camaraderie and pop-dance songs was the six-member boyband, Teen Top, when they opened the evening’s proceedings with ‘To You’, ‘Girlfriend’, ‘No More Perfume on You’ and more. They passed the baton to their juniors B1A4, a relatively new band that captivated fans with their toothy grins and cheeky banter.
The audience sprung a surprise birthday celebration for B1A4 band member CNU, who will be turning 22 today with a birthday tune, cake, and a handmade scrapbook, after the group performed two songs. The bespectacled birthday boy quipped in delight that his birthday wish this year, is for ‘B1A4 and BANA (nickname for fans) to be together forever’.
