After spending 20 consecutive weeks atop the Monday and Tuesday primetime ratings chart, ‘Light and Shadows’ has ended its grand eight month run.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the final episode (sixty-fourth) of MBC drama ‘Light and Shadows’ ended in 19.5%. This is 0.3% more than the previous day.

‘Light and Shadows’ maintained high popularity with over 20%. However, after the 14-episode extension, it fell below 20%. A final revival was expected in the last episode but it stayed in first place but didn’t increase any higher than that.

The drama, which spotlights the Korean show business in the 1960s, ended the story with the main character Kang Ki-tae (played by Ahn Jae Wook), scooping up major awards at prestigious award ceremonies and sharing the honor with his crew.

Meanwhile the twelfth episode of SBS ‘THE CHASER’ rated 13.5%, 0.4% higher than the previous episode and the tenth episode of KBS 2TV ‘Big‘ rated 8.1%, the same as the day before.
