Living up to his title “Asia’s Prince”, Jang Geun Suk became the most popular Hallyu male star in Taiwan.
According to a ranking released by Yahoo Taiwan, Jang Geun Suk has been chosen as the most searched Korean male celebrity for the first half of 2012. Also appearing on the list were Kim Hyun Joong in second place and Park Yoochun in third place, followed by Lee Min Ho, Kim Soo Hyun and others.
This is yet another achievement for Jang Geun Suk to become a top-rated artist on the poll taken by Yahoo Taiwan. In 2010, the star received two awards at the 2010 Yahoo! Buzz Awards: Male Buzz Star Award and Asia’s Buzz Star Award, after leading polls among netizens from four countries (Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Indonesia). He also took another trophy last year for Taiwan Top Searched Single Korean Artist.
According to his agency YTree Media, the premiere of Jang Geun Suk’s drama “Love Rain” (KBS, 2012) on Taiwan’s GTV has been propelling his popularity to grow to new heights. He will also be coming to Taipei with his ongoing Asia tour, The Cri Show 2 on September 1 and 2.
