2NE1 and Wonder Girls have taken first and second place for “groups that can adapt well to the American market and become successful” respectively. Online Education Organization stated that from 27 July to 9 August, about 378 participants were surveyed. The results showed that 2NE1 received 184 votes (49%) , followed by Wonder Girls with 50 votes (13%).
In regards to this questionnaire, STAR News representative stated that the reason 2NE1 can get first place is as follows. When 2NE1 first released their debut album in May 2009, American producer Will.I.Am went to South Korea to visit YG and 2NE1, as well as YG’s main producer Teddy, to discuss about possible collaborations in the future. Furthermore, with 2NE1′s New Evolution concert to take place in New Jersey and LA, it can be seen that 2NE1 is doing very well in the American music industry.
2NE1 will be starting their World Tour in America on the 17 August in New Jersey.
