Actress Kim Tae Hee will be casting in her first historical drama.

On October 8th, the production staff from SBS announced that Kim Tae Hee has been cast as the lead role of Lady Jang Hee Bin for the upcoming historical drama, ‘Jang Ok Jung, Live for Love’.

The story of Lady Jang Hee Bin, who is one of Korea’s best known royal concubines of the Joseon Dynasty, has been remade into countless movies and dramas. This drama makes Kim Tae Hee the ninth version of the character.

Regarding on Kim Tae Hee’s casting, the show’s production said, “We feel thankful for so many actors’ interests. However, we are thrilled that our first choice has accepted the role. We will do our best to make the best drama ever.”

They continued, “The drama will show fashion designers and cosmetic makers of Joseon Dynasty, and the viewers will be able to see things that were never shown in other dramas.”

The drama is currently scheduled for March of 2013.
