The ‘2012 MelOn Music Awards’ was held on December 14th at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. Hosted by LOEN Entertainment and MBC Plus Media, music companies that run MelOn, the event was aired live through MBC Music, MBC every1 and YouTube.

In addition to the MelOn Music Awards Top 10, the ceremony also named this year’s best artist, album, global artist awards, popular, music style, and special awards. The winners were chosen by calculating the number of downloads, which accounted for 60% of the vote, and streaming number, which accounted for 40% of the vote.
