After becoming a major box office hit in Korea last year, ‘The Thieves’ is set to premiere in China on January 15.
According to the film distributor, Showbox Mediaplex, the movie will be shown on over 3,000 theaters through the Chinese giant film group, Lava Film. The distributors had originally planned to release the movie in China in September, but a series of snags has delayed the premiere.
‘The Thieves’ will stand on near-even footing with the eagerly anticipated Chinese film ‘The Grandmasters,’ directed by Wong Kar-wai. And to further promote the movie, producers Choi Dong Hoon and Jeon Ji Hyun will be attending the premiere screening.
The film also opened in select theaters across the US last October and is also set to premiere in Japan, India, and Russia.
