MBC will be broadcasting live its weekly music show ‘Music Core’ in Japanese theaters starting from May 4th. This will be the first time that a regular Korean show will be broadcast live in a theater abroad.

According to MBC Japan, ‘Music Core’ will broadcast live in theaters in Japan’s biggest cities including Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Osaka and Yokohama.

Kim Suk Chan, the president of MBC Japan stated, “At the end of last year, we aired the ‘Gayo Daejaejun’ in about 20 theaters in Japan as a test and reached 90% in market share. Through the live broadcasting of ‘Music Core’ in international theaters, we hope to establish the globalization of K-Pop and Korean lifestyle.”
