Gary publicly confessed his feeling towards his "Monday Couple" girlfriend Song Ji Hyo.

At 2013 SBS Entertainment Award on December 30th, there was a segment called "Entertainment Heirs" and Gary was nominated as the "Romance Heir" thanks to his onscreen loveline with Song Ji Hyo in "Running Man".MC Shin Dong Yup interviewed him and asked Gary to say something to Jihyo, he said,"I want you, Song Ji Hyo" and received a loud cheer from everyone.

Upon this, Song Ji Hyo couldn't hide her shyness and responded,"Thank you Gary-ssi". By observing the two reactions, Shin Dong Yup jokingly said,"Running Man members should know about the real relationship between you...", caused a laughable atmosphere between the other members.
