The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is an advocacy to promote awareness and encourage donations to research for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disease characterized by muscle spasticity, rapidly progressive weakness due to muscle atrophy, and difficulty in speaking, swallowing, and breathing.
