BoA and her father have been sued by the city of Namyangju for illegal housing on restricted land.

According to various reports on September 15th, BoA and her father bought 4600 square meters land in Namyangju in February 2004 and again in August 2009, owning the land for nearly 10 years. It was said that in 2005, they converted 66 square meters into a residential living and 99 square meters of agricultural area into warehouses. BoA's father has also lived on the land since 7 - 8 years ago.

Though BoA bought the land legally, but since it belongs to Greenbelt area in which any form of building structures is deemed illegal. The city of Namyangju reported BoA and her father to the local police after finding out a total of 10 violations. BoA's father, Mr.Kwon has been charged for connecting a management office and warehouse by setting a rain shelter and using it as a residence. Also he was reported to transform 600 square meters of forest into a garden with lawn grass and even built a large pavilion in front of the house.

Judging from the case, Boa and her father might be fined 50 million won for their crime.
